Funded international research collaborations built as a domestic prime award linked to one or more independent foreign awards, where the international subproject must offer unusual talent, resources, populations or environmental conditions unavailable in the United States, or augment resources the United States already has, and the whole project must fit the scientific mission of a participating National Institutes of Health institute or centre. Clinical trials are optional.
