Funds a genuinely new experimental or computational approach to finding the cause of a rare genetic disorder, where the current state of the art falls short.

Roughly half of people with a suspected rare genetic disorder finish the standard diagnostic process without an answer. This notice funds attempts to change that, and it says outright that it wants highly innovative work.
