Pilot Projects Investigating Understudied Proteins Associated with Rare Diseases
Funds basic biochemical or biological work on a protein from a published list — druggable, linked to a rare disease, and barely studied.
Most biomedical research concentrates on a small number of well-known proteins. This notice deliberately funds work on the ones nobody has looked at.
The eligible proteins are not left to the applicant. A list is provided, and every protein on it meets two conditions: it belongs to a druggable protein family, and it has a known association with a rare disease. Druggable matters — the point is not…
