Radiopharmaceutical therapy treats cancer with radiation delivered by a targeting molecule, and understanding how that radiation actually affects tissue — tumor and healthy alike — is what decides whether the next generation of these treatments works better or just differently. This notice funds that understanding at the preclinical stage.

The named goal is mechanistic: how different forms of rad

Preclinical cancer-biology research on the biological effects of radionuclide-emitted radiation used in radiopharmaceutical therapy — how it affects normal tissue, tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment — integrating cancer biology, radiation biology, radiochemistry, imaging, dosimetry and preclinical modeling, as either an exploratory/developmental project of up to 2 years or a research project of 4 to 5 years.
