The NIDDK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium (IBDGC) Data Coordinating Center
Funds the single data coordinating center for NIDDK's inflammatory bowel disease genetics consortium, managing biospecimens and data from its research centers.
Inflammatory bowel disease has no cure, and treating it well means finding out which of many possible drugs and strategies will actually work for a given patient — a question genetics is starting to answer. This notice funds the hub that makes that genetics work possible across many sites at once.
The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium has already found more than 300 genetic risk loci…
A single Data Coordinating Center managing participant enrollment, biospecimen collection and processing, and data and sample submission to central repositories for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics Consortium's Genetic Research Centers, named in a companion notice, plus external collaborations and pilot projects. The consortium's own goal is new genetic, clinical and environmental predictors of IBD remission, recurrence and treatment response.
