The Wyoming Business Council administers Wyoming STEP as a State Trade Expansion Program grant funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The current grant period runs from July 1, 2026, to September 29, 2027, with applications opening July 1, 2026.
Awards reimburse 75 percent of eligible expenses, capped at USD 5,000 per award. The page states the total program cost is USD 233,333, financed with USD 175,000 in federal money and USD 58,333 in non-federal sources. Each eligible small business concern may receive up to two awards during the grant period.
Applicants must meet SBA eligibility requirements, be physically located in and operated from Wyoming, and operate as for-profit businesses. Recipients must hold business-to-business meetings with potential clients during the trade event, and reimbursement is based on approved eligible expenses after application approval and contract completion.
