The Wyoming Business Council Market Expansion Grant reimburses Wyoming-based for-profit small businesses for eligible costs incurred while expanding into out-of-state markets. Eligible activities include trade show participation, market-development travel, and related market expansion costs outside Wyoming. The programme operates on an annual fiscal-year cycle; the FY2026 allocation was fully obligated before the fiscal year ended, and WBC anticipates reopening the FY2027 cycle on July 1, 2026, contingent on the Wyoming state legislative budget session confirming appropriations.

Eligibility is restricted to for-profit businesses with annual revenue under $5 million that are registered and in good standing with the Wyoming Secretary of State and maintain principal operations in Wyoming. Nonprofits, universities, and research organisations are ineligible. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the planned market expansion activity; reimbursement is processed after the activity is completed and documented. The maximum award per application has not been published; WBC directs prospective applicants to contact Kade McMillan at 307-757-4344 for guidance on award sizing before applying.

Because the programme reimburses costs already incurred, applicants must plan cash flow to cover trade show registration, travel, and related expenses upfront before receiving funds. Manufacturers, agricultural producers, food technology companies, and hardware companies seeking distribution or sales relationships outside Wyoming are the primary beneficiaries. Applicants should monitor the Wyoming Business Council website and contact WBC directly in late June 2026 to confirm whether the FY2027 window has opened as anticipated and whether any programme rule changes accompany the new fiscal year cycle.
