Becas ICEX is ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones' long-running talent programme for international trade specialists. The scheme sits under Spain's state trade agency and combines classroom training with placements abroad and in Spanish firms or international organisations. It has run for more than 50 years and is aimed at young professionals preparing for work in internationalisation. The current cycle is built in three phases: a master's in International Business Management, a 12-month internship at one of ICEX's 105 Economic and Commercial Offices abroad, and a 12-month placement in a Spanish company or international organisation. The 51st promotion carries a €15.64 million budget, expandable to €18 million, and Phase I stipends range from €23,800 to €48,500 depending on destination. A 2% quota is reserved for candidates with disabilities at or above 33%. Applications run on two tracks, one for individual candidates and one for companies or entities that want to host interns. The programme is strongest for EU candidates who can meet the Spanish residency and language requirements and commit to the full three-year structure. For employers, Phase II is co-financed at different rates depending on company size and location, while ICEX covers insurance and travel assistance in full.
