Becas ICEX is Spain's principal long-form professional training program for international trade specialists, administered by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and now entering its 51st Promotion. The program spans three years and three phases: Phase 0, a funded Master's degree in International Business Management (with ICEX covering tuition costs, excluding public fees, plus €800 per month in maintenance aid, or €2,500 per month for candidates residing outside Madrid for three or more years); Phase I, a 12-month internship at one of Spain's 105 overseas Economic and Commercial Offices with annual stipends ranging from €23,800 to €48,500 depending on destination country, with a cap of 280 participants; and Phase II, a 12-month internship at a Spanish company or international organization. The 51st Promotion has a total budget of €15.64 million, expandable to €18 million, and the individual-candidate application window for this cycle ran from March 9 to 23, 2026 (deadline 14:00 Madrid time).

This call is for individual candidates only. Applicants must hold EU citizenship and Spanish residency, have been born on or after January 1, 1998, hold a university degree that grants access to Master's-level study, demonstrate English proficiency at B2 CEFR or above, and be proficient in Spanish. A €30 registration fee is required at application. Two percent of available slots are reserved for candidates with a recognized disability rating of 33% or higher. Selection is competitive across all eligible applicants in a single national cohort.

The 51st Promotion individual-candidate application window closed March 23, 2026, so this cycle is no longer accepting new applicants. Organizations wishing to host Phase II interns from this or future cohorts should consult the concurrent Prácticas en Empresas track (see es-icex-becas-practicas-2027), where companies apply to be approved host entities. Future individual-candidate calls follow the same structure annually and are announced at becas.icex.es.
