Company Internships — ICEX Scholarships Phase II (Prácticas en Empresas — Becas ICEX)

Offers Spanish companies a cost-shared pathway to host trade-specialist interns on global placements.

Prácticas en Empresas 2027 is the company-track call of Becas ICEX Phase II, administered by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, Spain's public international trade promotion agency. Under this program, Spanish companies and qualifying international organizations apply to become approved host entities for Becas ICEX Phase II interns — trained international trade specialists completing the third phase of Spain's flagship three-year trade scholarship. Internships begin approximately February 2027 and last 12 months. ICEX subsidizes the cost of hosting: 60% of the annual gross allowance for SMEs placing interns abroad, 50% for SMEs hosting in Spain, and 10% for large companies; international organizations receive 100% cost coverage. In all cases ICEX covers 100% of accident and travel-assistance insurance. No more than four scholarship requests per company are approved in a single call.

Eligibility is limited to for-profit companies constituted in Spain and current with their tax and social-security obligations. Companies must demonstrate either active international commercial or productive activity or an active strategic expansion plan abroad. Each applicant must submit a structured training plan and designate an internal tutor for the intern. Nonprofits and international organizations may also apply as host entities. Universities and research organizations are not eligible as hosts.

The application window for Prácticas en Empresas 2027 runs from June 2 to July 8, 2026. Decision notifications are expected approximately November 2026, with internships starting around February 2027. The concurrent individual-candidate track — the 51st Promotion — closed in March 2026. Companies that want to access talent developed by Becas ICEX without running a full recruitment process should submit their host-entity applications through the becas.icex.es portal before the July 8 deadline.
