National Technology Innovation Fund (Quỹ Đổi mới công nghệ quốc gia, NATIF)
Funds Vietnamese innovation adoption by supporting technology transfer, enterprise modernization, and university-industry collaboration.
Quỹ Đổi mới công nghệ quốc gia (National Technology Innovation Fund, NATIF) is Vietnam's national technology-innovation fund under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Established in 2011 and reorganized in 2026 as a public-service unit, it backs technology adoption, transfer, and innovation for enterprises, universities, and research organizations.
Its routes are non-refundable funding support, loan-interest subsidy, innovation vouchers, and commissioned research. The subsidy route can cover up to 50% of bank interest, capped at 6%, for as long as five years. Priority sectors include agriculture, health, energy, environment, and new materials, and the voucher route is aimed especially at small and medium-sized firms buying approved innovation services.
The fund is financed from the state budget and voluntary contributions, and its public materials and applications are in Vietnamese. NATIF is best suited to organizations that can show a concrete technology upgrade or transfer plan rather than pure basic research, with the strongest fit in applied industrial and service settings.
