SPRIND Funke QuantumSense Exploration — Stage 1

Funds teams hunting for entirely new quantum systems that could be used as sensors.

OpenSPRIND (Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen)GermanyEUEuropean Economic AreaUnited KingdomIsrael

A SPRIND Funke for teams looking one step further out than the current generation of quantum sensors. The brief is explicitly not to make existing sensor types better. It is to find quantum effects and systems nobody has yet used for sensing at all, whether through AI-assisted exploration, cross-disciplinary literature work or another route the team can argue for.

Stage 1 runs five months with up

New quantum effects, quantum systems or measurement principles that could be turned into sensors — discovery of new systems, not optimisation of known sensor types.
