The EUDP IEA Call is an annual co-funding track administered by the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) under Denmark's EUDP programme, established by statute in 2007. It provides grants specifically to Danish entities seeking to participate in IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes (TCPs) — the International Energy Agency's mechanism for multilateral cooperation on defined energy technology domains, including hydrogen, solar, wind, smart grids, and energy storage. By funding Danish participation in TCPs, EUDP integrates Danish researchers and companies into global energy R&D networks at Danish public expense, which aligns with Denmark's 70% CO2 reduction target by 2030.

Eligibility is restricted to Danish-registered entities — companies, universities, and research organisations. Since the IEA Call funds Denmark's contribution to international expert groups rather than standalone project work, the award amounts are smaller than EUDP Main grants and are calibrated to the TCP membership and activity costs rather than the DKK 2–15 million typical of the main programme. Individuals are not eligible. Applications and reporting follow the general EUDP process administered by Energistyrelsen's secretariat in Esbjerg; for grants above DKK 3 million English submission is standard. This is an annual call, meaning a new round opens each year.

Organisations considering this track should first identify the specific IEA TCP most relevant to their technology domain and confirm active Danish participation is being sought for that programme cycle. The EUDP secretariat (eudpsekr@ens.dk) can advise on which TCPs have open Danish slots in a given year. EUDP has awarded approximately 600 projects since 2007 and distributed DKK 628 million across 81 projects in 2025 alone, demonstrating the continued scale and activity of the broader programme under which this call sits.
