Next-Generation Battery Concepts
Funds ten €4.8M research projects developing safer, cheaper and higher-performing battery concepts for mobility, grids and industry.
This two-stage topic supports battery concepts that can strengthen European competitiveness, green energy use and energy storage. Applicants choose among low-cost batteries for electric mobility or stationary storage, high-performance batteries for aviation or other demanding mobility, and durable advanced materials and cell concepts for grid or energy-intensive industrial storage.
Area A targets…
Two-stage research support for next-generation battery concepts across three areas: low-cost lithium-ion or sodium-ion batteries, high-performance batteries for aviation and mobility, or durable advanced materials and cells for stationary storage. Projects address scalability, manufacturability, sustainability, safety, diagnostics and market relevance, reaching TRL 4-5.
