Horizon Bioeconomy Places

Many bioeconomy opportunities depend on local biomass, businesses, skills, infrastructure and public decisions. This topic funds research and innovation that helps geographically defined areas become Bioeconomy Places: places where biological resources are used in ways that support sustainable prosperity and community wellbeing.

Projects will define benchmarks for awarding a Bioeconomy Place labe

Research and innovation for geographically defined Bioeconomy Places, including benchmarks, pilot sites, local biomass and value-chain analysis, multi-actor partnerships, skills, finance capacity and policy recommendations. Projects develop place-based plans for sustainable prosperity and community wellbeing, with pilots in at least three EU or Associated Countries and at least one site fully or partially in Ukraine.
