Funds a coordination and support action to build a European roadmap and industrial strategy for simplified, RedCap-style 5G/6G devices ahead of the next EU research framework.

This Coordination and Support Action extends the industry dialogue to representative verticals and institutional players, including those focused on security of public-service applications, and centres specifically on RedCap-style lower-complexity devices. The winning consortium must map priority use-cases and the industries that could adopt these devices first, assess strengths and weaknesses in

The funder wants a structured dialogue between Europe's telecom and microelectronics industries to define requirements for lower-complexity 6G devices, and to identify the vertical markets that could adopt them first. It is also looking for an option-based roadmap covering core technologies, test facilities, and edge-AI integration, plus a plan to close European supply-chain gaps in this space.
