This call funds innovation-stage development of advanced U-space drone traffic management services, including dynamic delegation of controlled airspace between air traffic control and U-space, and letting certified drones operate in controlled airspace such as airports under ATC clearance. It also wants enhanced drone flight-authorisation processes, tactical separation services for beyond-visual-line-of-sight drone flights, automated ground-risk assessment, and geofencing that blocks unauthorised drone entry into restricted zones. A further strand covers low-ground-risk detect-and-avoid drone operations in drone-only geozones.
