Eurostars-3 — Croatian national track (/ next)
Supports Croatian companies in multinational innovation consortia across countries and industry.
The Eurostars programme, administered in Croatia by HAMAG-BICRO under the Horizon Europe co-funded European Partnership on Innovative SMEs, funds transnational collaborative R&D projects in which at least one innovative Croatian SME participates. The programme operates on a twice-yearly cut-off calendar, with calls numbered sequentially; Call 10 ran in early 2026, with the international application deadline of 19 March 2026 through the EUREKA Eurostars portal and the Croatian national documentation deadline of 30 March 2026 at HAMAG-BICRO. An information day held in June 2026 signals that Call 11 is expected to follow in approximately September 2026, consistent with the established Eurostars cadence. The programme has operated without major eligibility breaks since its Eurostars-3 launch under Horizon Europe.
For each Croatian partner, HAMAG-BICRO provides up to EUR 200,000 per project at a co-financing rate of 50–60% of eligible project costs. Lead eligibility is restricted to innovative SMEs registered in Croatia; scientific and research institutions may participate as consortium partners but may not lead the application. A consortium spanning at least two Eurostars participating countries is mandatory. Applications require a dual-track submission: the full project application through the international EUREKA portal, plus Croatian-specific eligibility documentation submitted directly to HAMAG-BICRO.
HAMAG-BICRO also offers a preparation voucher of up to EUR 3,350 per call cycle to help Croatian applicants fund expert proposal drafting services. Voucher applications must be submitted before the international project deadline and are therefore time-sensitive relative to each call. Prospective applicants targeting Call 11 or later cycles should monitor HAMAG-BICRO announcements and the EUREKA portal from approximately July 2026 onward for specific deadline confirmation.
