IFIC Linha IA nas PME 2025 (Aviso 03/C05-i14-01/2025) was a €100 million non-repayable grant programme administered by Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) under Portugal's PRR Component C5, designed to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption across the SME sector. It offered a non-repayable subsidy covering 75% of eligible investment costs per company, capped at €300,000 per beneficiary. The minimum eligible project investment was approximately €5,000, meaning very small digital transformation initiatives qualified alongside larger AI integration programmes. The call closed on 21 November 2025.

Eligible beneficiaries were Portuguese SMEs (PMEs) operating in any sector, with the qualifying criterion being investment in the adoption of AI solutions rather than technology-sector membership. The 75% support rate left a 25% co-financing obligation on the applicant. Given the €300,000 per-company cap, a company investing €400,000 or more in AI adoption would receive the maximum non-repayable award; smaller projects would receive 75% of actual eligible costs. The €100 million total envelope was distributed across all qualifying applications submitted before the November 2025 deadline via the SIGA-BF portal (recuperarportugal.gov.pt).

The Linha Fomento IFIC Mais complementary reimbursable financing line (€1.5 billion pool) was available to approved beneficiaries to cover the co-financing share or additional investment. This call is now closed. Organisations tracking Portuguese SME digital-transformation funding should monitor BPF and the PRR programme management authority for any successor AI-adoption notice, given the high demand for such instruments across the EU's NextGenerationEU deployment cycle.
