The Professional Certificates Reimbursement programme is operated by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) of Saudi Arabia to support Saudi nationals in acquiring market-relevant professional certifications that align with domestic labour market needs. HRDF reimburses the costs of examination fees and associated training for certifications that appear on its approved list, covering a wide range of professional domains from telecommunications to healthcare. Reimbursement amounts vary by certification: specific examples include SAR 950 for Nokia 5G certifications and SAR 35,000 for Dental Implant specialisations, with the total range extending across the full approved certification list.

Eligibility is restricted to Saudi nationals. The professional certificate must appear on HRDF's approved list at the time of application, must have been obtained after programme approval, and must be presented within six months of issuance. Each applicant is permitted a maximum of two certificate reimbursements in total. The applicant must confirm that their employer did not cover the costs; invoices must be in the applicant's name and must itemise training and examination fees separately. Membership fees are explicitly excluded from reimbursement coverage.

Applications are submitted through the Taqat portal with copies of the invoice and the certificate attached. Once the application is approved, HRDF processes a bank transfer (IBAN) within 20 to 40 business days. The programme is rolling with no fixed application deadline, allowing Saudi professionals to apply as qualifying certifications are obtained throughout the year. HRDF periodically updates the approved certification list to reflect evolving labour market priorities under Saudi Vision 2030, so applicants are advised to verify approval status before enrolling in a programme.
