The Impact Innovation: Net Zero Industry 2026 call is a jointly funded initiative of Energimyndigheten, Vinnova, and Formas targeting innovations that help Swedish manufacturing industry achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. The combined budget for the 2026 call is 80 million SEK. Applications are accepted until 2026-06-17 at 23:59 CET, with funding decisions expected in October 2026 and project starts required no earlier than 2026-11-01.

Consortium formation is mandatory. Each application must include at least three partners: a minimum of one Swedish discrete manufacturing company and at least one research organization. The manufacturing company anchors the industrial relevance of the project, while the research partner provides scientific credibility. Project duration varies by type: feasibility studies may run up to 18 months, PhD projects up to four years, and other projects up to three years, with end dates generally no later than 2029 or 2030. Individual award amounts per project are not published in advance; the 80 million SEK pool is distributed competitively across accepted applications.

The program sits within the established Impact Innovation framework, a cross-agency instrument designed to bridge research and industrial deployment. Applicants should direct questions to impactinnovation@energimyndigheten.se. The strongest applications will demonstrate a credible pathway from the proposed research or innovation activity to measurable greenhouse gas reductions in a Swedish manufacturing context, supported by a committed industrial partner with operational relevance to the solution.

Net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions innovations in Swedish manufacturing industry, funded through a joint Energimyndigheten, Vinnova, and Formas consortium call with an 80 MSEK budget.
