SOSV NY — formerly IndieBio NY — is SOSV's New York City-based pre-seed accelerator focused on biology, life sciences, therapeutics, and healthcare engineering. SOSV describes itself as the world's most active deep tech venture capital firm investing at pre-seed, making approximately 60 pre-seed investments annually across all its programs. SOSV NY invests USD 550,000 per company via a pre-seed SAFE instrument in exchange for an equity stake, with an optional USD 250,000 additional investment available through the Genesis Consortium for qualifying companies. This is a dilutive equity program, not a grant.

Participating founders receive a six-month immersive lab residency at SOSV's New York City facility, working in an open-plan laboratory environment alongside SOSV general partners and staff. The program provides direct access to SOSV's network of 150+ follow-on investors, one-on-one investor introductions, media support, demo day exposure, and the full SOSV portfolio community spanning 82 nationalities across 58 countries. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through a three-step process: online application, interview, and cohort offer. SOSV NY's portfolio includes clinical-stage therapeutics companies launched within five years of program participation.

SOSV NY is best suited for biology and life-science founders building companies in therapeutics, diagnostics, biomanufacturing, medtech, or related human health categories who need both capital and wet-lab infrastructure at the pre-seed stage. Founders should expect to commit to a six-month New York City residency. IndieBio was rebranded to SOSV NY in 2024–2025 to unify the firm's program identity; the underlying investment terms and program structure remain consistent with the prior IndieBio model.
