Industrial Energy Technology Program — ETP
Helps Taiwan manufacturers reduce innovation risk through the Industrial Energy Technology Program by funding energy related proof of concept work.
The Industrial Energy Technology Program (ETP) is a rolling subsidy offered by Taiwan's Energy Administration (EA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), covering the development of innovative energy technologies by domestic Taiwanese companies. Three categories of activity are eligible: frontier energy technology applications, key energy components and materials, and energy system integration solutions. The programme is designed to reduce the financial risk of early-stage industrial energy R&D and has no fixed annual deadline—applications are accepted year-round.
The subsidy covers approximately 40–50% of approved project costs, with the applicant company funding the remainder. Only for-profit companies registered and operating in Taiwan under the Company Act are eligible; applicants must have non-dishonoured bank accounts and positive net worth at the time of application. Universities, research organisations, and non-profit entities are excluded. No sector restriction beyond energy applies, meaning companies across manufacturing, materials, and clean-technology supply chains can apply if the proposed project targets energy innovation.
The programme is administered operationally by the Corporate Synergy Development Center (CSD) through the portal at etp.csd.org.tw. The MOEA point of contact is Yu-Ying Lu (yylu@moeaea.gov.tw, +886-2-2775-7694); CSD can be reached at c0854@csd.org.tw (+886-2-8772-1953 ext. 602). Applicants should confirm current intake and cost-eligibility criteria directly with CSD before incurring project expenses, as the programme operates on a continuous rolling basis rather than a fixed annual competition cycle.
