Funds a medical student's PhD placement within their university's MBPhD programme.
An established investigator applies as supervisor for a named student who has already been pre-selected by their university's MBPhD programme directorate; a second supervisor is also required. The award covers the student's stipend, home-rate tuition fees, research consumables (usually under £18,000 a year) and travel funding of up to £3,000.
