Parkinson's Research Ventures is a venture investment vehicle co-led by Parkinson's UK and the Parkinson's Foundation (US) that deploys capital into pre-clinical and clinical programmes targeting disease modification or meaningful symptom management in Parkinson's disease. The vehicle has committed over £30 million to date across more than 60 global partners, operating at Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A stages. The model combines patient-charity capital with scientific rigour, backing programmes that commercial investors would not typically fund at early stage.

Eligibility is broad: for-profit companies, nonprofits, universities, and research organisations are all eligible, and the portfolio is global rather than restricted to UK-based teams. Individuals cannot apply directly. There is no minimum or maximum award size disclosed publicly. Investment decisions are made collaboratively between Parkinson's UK and the Parkinson's Foundation, and terms are negotiated case by case rather than through a standardised award structure.

There is no open request-for-proposals or competitive application cycle. Researchers and organisations engage through a business-development inquiry route via Parkinson's UK, which then coordinates with the Parkinson's Foundation on due diligence and investment decisions. Strong applications will demonstrate a credible scientific thesis for modifying Parkinson's disease progression, a clear development roadmap from current stage to meaningful patient impact, and a team capable of executing the programme. Previously known as Parkinson's Virtual Biotech, the programme was rebranded to Parkinson's Research Ventures to reflect its expanded scope and transatlantic structure.
