Parkinson's UK is the UK's leading Parkinson's charity and the legal Parkinson's Disease Society of the United Kingdom. Based in London, it has funded research for more than 50 years and is the country's main charity backer for work on treatments, cures, and quality of life.

Its native research routes include Project Grants up to £400,000, Senior Research Fellowships up to £450,000, Drug Accelerator Awards and Grants for Non-Drug Approaches up to £200,000 each, and Research Meetings Support up to £2,500. The charity also co-funds fellowships with MRC/UKRI, with MRC administering that stream, and it runs Parkinson's Research Ventures, a venture-investment arm formerly known as Virtual Biotech.

Applicants need a UK lead from a university, NHS Trust, research institute, or statutory social care organisation, and full-application panels include lay reviewers with lived experience of Parkinson's. That review model, together with the charity's research portal and its venture arm, makes Parkinson's UK a hybrid funder: part grant-maker, part co-funder, and part translational investor.
