Translational trauma-care research moving a mature idea or technology, at a minimum biomedical technology or knowledge readiness level of 4, toward maximizing casualty survivability, improving care closer to the point of injury, or improving trauma care guidelines. Preliminary data are required; well-validated animal models are allowed.
