DoW Orthopaedic, Applied Research Award
Funds early feasibility work on a new orthopaedic treatment or device β the step that comes before any clinical study.
Combat and service injuries to bones, joints and the soft tissue around them leave people short of full function, and getting from a promising idea to something a clinic can actually use takes a step most funders skip past.
This award pays for that step. Applied research here means refining a concept into something whose technical feasibility can be tested β a new knowledge product, a pharmacologβ¦
Applied, preclinical research evaluating the technical feasibility of new knowledge products, pharmacologic agents, behavioural and rehabilitation interventions, diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, or emerging technologies for combat and service-related orthopaedic injury. Preliminary data is required and clinical research is not allowed.
