Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools
Funds small research projects at health-profession and graduate schools that have received little NIH support, with students doing the work.
NIH funding concentrates in a small number of research-heavy institutions. This award exists for health professional and graduate schools outside that group — places that train a lot of the country's future scientists but see little of its research money.

Small-scale research projects at institutions awarding NIH-relevant baccalaureate or advanced degrees in the health professions that have received under $6 million a year of National Institutes of Health support in four of the last seven fiscal years, providing research experience for undergraduate or graduate students at the school and strengthening its research environment. Clinical trials are not allowed.
