Limited Competition: Small Grant Program for the NCATS Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program
Funds a small, short research project for a scholar who just finished NCATS's KL2 or K12 translational-science training.
A KL2 or K12 award pays a scholar's salary while they finish becoming an independent researcher. It rarely funds enough actual research to get a first full application ready. This grant fills that specific gap.
Eligibility is not about the applicant organization at all β it is about one person's training history. Only scholars who received direct NCATS funding through the CTSA Program's KL2 or K1β¦
Small research grants β pilot and feasibility studies, secondary analysis of existing data, small self-contained projects, development of research methodology, or development of new research technology β for individual scholars who completed NCATS's CTSA Program KL2 or K12 institutional career-development training and are applying within two years of finishing their NIH appointment; patient-oriented research is optional, not required.
