Collaborative, interdisciplinary research into the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease in people with type 1 diabetes — atherosclerosis, cardiomyopathy, endothelial dysfunction and cardiac autonomic neuropathy — beyond standard glycaemic, blood-pressure and cholesterol control, as part of an open-competition continuation of the CaRe-T1D Consortium. Clinical trials are not allowed.
