BRAIN Initiative: Reagent Resources for Brain Cell Type-Specific Access to Broaden Distribution of Enabling Technologies for Neuroscience

Funds a minority-serving or IDeA-eligible institution to build a facility that makes and ships brain cell-targeting reagents to neuroscience labs.

OpenNational Institutes of HealthUnited States

The BRAIN Initiative spent years developing reagents that let a researcher reach one specific type of brain cell. Those reagents are useless sitting in the laboratory that invented them. This notice funds the factory.

The purpose is establishing facilities for scaled production and distribution of brain cell type-specific access and manipulation reagents. The reagents themselves come from a separ…

Facilities at minority-serving and Institutional Development Award-eligible institutions for scaled production and distribution of brain cell type-specific access and manipulation reagents — including viral vectors, nucleic acid constructs and nanoparticles — developed in a companion pilot programme, working with reagent developers and the neuroscience community to manufacture, distribute and optimise their use. Clinical trials are not allowed.
