BRAIN Initiative Connectivity across Scales (BRAIN CONNECTS): Specialized Projects for Scalable Technologies
Funds technology anywhere in the connectomics pipeline — collection, reconstruction, analysis, dissemination — to make brain wiring diagrams faster and cheaper.
Mapping every connection in a brain is currently possible and impractical. It costs too much and takes too long. This notice funds making it practical, and it puts ten million dollars behind that.
The programme it belongs to aims to lay the scientific foundation for the next generation of circuit-based approaches to preventing and treating brain disorders. This part of it supports specialised pro…
Specialised projects developing current or emerging technologies for comprehensive atlases of brain connectivity, emphasising human, non-human primate and mouse, covering any aspect of connectivity and its data pipelines — collection, reconstruction, analysis, integration, dissemination and interpretation — to make brain-wide wiring diagrams faster, more precise and more cost-effective. Clinical trials are not allowed.
