Quantum Transitional Call

Funds Swiss quantum researchers shut out of Horizon Europe's own quantum call.

Between cyclesSwiss National Science FoundationSwitzerland

This SNSF scheme exists because Switzerland is a non-associated third country in Horizon Europe, so Swiss scientists cannot access the EU's parallel quantum call; the federal government mandated the SNSF to fund them directly instead. Proposals go through the mySNF portal and are reviewed by a dedicated Evaluation Panel of national and international quantum experts appointed by a Steering Committe

The call funds Swiss-based quantum research across the quantum software ecosystem, quantum computing and simulation hardware, quantum communication, and quantum sensing technologies based on entanglement and superposition. Projects on quantum materials are also welcome when they are key to one of these core technologies.
