Build an integrated evidence base on maladaptation: adaptation actions that unintentionally increase climate-related risk or create greenhouse-gas, air-pollution, socio-economic, biodiversity or environmental harms, transferred vulnerability or social inequity. Projects map drivers and case studies across sectors, regions and scales, strengthen qualitative and quantitative complex-risk assessment, validate effective practices, and produce corrective responses, prevention guidelines and tools for adaptation stakeholders. The work includes SSH, intersectional and gender-disaggregated analysis, end-user engagement, EU repository integration, and coordination with Mission Adaptation and related Horizon projects.
