Bio-based drop-ins/smart drop-in platform chemicals, via cost-effective, sustainable and resource-efficient conversion of biomass
Funds a full-scale biorefinery that produces bio-based drop-in platform chemicals able to compete directly with their fossil-based equivalents.
This is a single-stage Horizon Europe Joint Undertaking Innovation Action, with the CBE JU expecting to fund one flagship project. The work centres on a full-scale biorefinery: proposals must show a cost-effective, robust, sustainable production process for bio-based drop-in or smart drop-in platform chemicals, reaching TRL 8, that behave as chemical analogues of their fossil-based counterparts an…
The call wants cost-effective, large-scale production of bio-based drop-in or smart drop-in platform chemicals, reaching TRL 8, that are chemical analogues of fossil-based chemicals and not substances of very high concern. Proposals must also demonstrate converting the produced chemicals into market-relevant final products at TRL 6 or higher.
