This call funds development of an ultra-efficient rear fuselage and empennage assembly, together with the industrial system to manufacture it, for the ultra-efficient short-to-medium-range (SMR) aircraft. Proposals should deliver a full component assembly and an advanced manufacturing and assembly system supporting high-rate production at Technology Readiness Level 6, aiming to cut component weight and set a clear route to certification and industrialisation for entry into service by 2035.
