MASE Critical and Strategic Raw Materials R&D and Innovation Projects was a closed public notice from Italy's Ministry of Environment and Energy Security for projects across the value chain of critical raw materials and strategic raw materials. It sat under Mission Innovation 2.0 and targeted technologies needed for secure, circular, and sustainable raw-material supply.

The notice made EUR 21 million available. The source gives cost-share ceilings rather than one simple grant cap: contribution intensity could not exceed 50% of eligible industrial research costs, 25% of eligible experimental development costs, and 50% of eligible feasibility-study costs, subject to the detailed notice rules. Because the captured page does not state a single per-applicant maximum grant amount, per-applicant award fields are left blank and the EUR 21 million figure is recorded as the total pool.

A for-profit route is explicit. The notice states that an enterprise can submit a project proposal as the lead of a project group made up of at least two partners among enterprises and/or research and knowledge-dissemination organizations. That means a company cannot treat this as a solo microgrant; it needed to lead or join a consortium and prepare a funded R&D project package.

Applications were submitted by the lead applicant through the dedicated online platform. The window opened at 12:00 Italy time on 3 February 2025 and closed at 12:00 Italy time on 28 March 2025. The page is marked closed, so founders should not use this notice as an open call; they should monitor MASE's Bandi e Avvisi page for successor raw-materials or Mission Innovation notices.

Research, development, and technological innovation across the full value chain of critical raw materials and strategic raw materials, including industrial research, experimental development, and feasibility studies.
