Development Contracts (Contratti di Sviluppo)
Funds Italian strategic industrial investments in large manufacturing programs and development initiatives.
Contratti di Sviluppo, introduced by Article 43 of D.L. 25 June 2008 n.112 and operational since 2011, is MIMIT's principal instrument for large strategic and innovative industrial investment programs. It finances industrial-development programs, environmental-protection programs, and tourism-development programs, plus the embedded R&D, innovation and infrastructure works needed for them. Overall eligible costs must be at least EUR 20M (or EUR 7.5M for agri-food processing and commercialization). The proposing enterprise must show at least EUR 10M of eligible costs for industrial/environmental programs (EUR 3M for agri-food, EUR 5M for tourism / EUR 3M for inner-area or recovery tourism). Aiding instruments combine soft loans up to 75% of eligible costs, interest-rate subsidies, capital grants, and direct spending grants — calibrated by project type, location and firm size and negotiated case-by-case. Multi-firm consortia and contracts-of-network are allowed. Soggetto gestore: Invitalia. Specialized sportelli have been opened over time (Net Zero, Renewables and Batteries; Semiconductors; Strategic Supply Chains; STEP; Agri-food; Tourism). The Net Zero sportello will close to new applications 21 April 2026.
