Large Trials Round 7 — Good Use of Medicines (Grote Trials Ronde 7 — Goed Gebruik Geneesmiddelen)

Grote Trials Ronde 7 is the seventh competitive round under ZonMw's Goed Gebruik Geneesmiddelen (Good Use of Medicines) programme, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and administered by ZonMw — the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development. The programme specifically funds large-scale randomised clinical trials designed to generate robust knowledge on the cost-effective, safer, and more appropriate use of medicines in the Netherlands. The Goed Gebruik Geneesmiddelen programme also includes a concurrent strand, Onderzoek met Bestaande Data Ronde 3, which uses existing datasets; Grote Trials is the arm funding prospective large trials.
The call opened on 2 March 2026 and closes on 16 June 2026 at 14:00 Netherlands time. Eligible applicants include Dutch universities, university medical centres, and non-profit research organisations; for-profit organisations and individual researchers may not lead submissions. Award amounts per project are not published on the programme index page and must be retrieved from the individual call page on Mijn ZonMw. Given the large-trial framing, awards are expected to be substantially higher than typical ZonMw small-scale grants, but specific figures are not confirmed in available sources.
Applications are submitted in Dutch via the Mijn ZonMw portal.
