The Helix Immersion Programme is a 12-month full-time paid fellowship administered by SGInnovate, a Singapore government-owned organisation under the Ministry of Trade and Industry focused on growing Singapore's deep tech ecosystem. The programme places Singapore citizens and permanent residents with biomedical research backgrounds into on-job training positions at one of more than 25 partner biotech and medtech companies, including Allozymes, Axcynsis, Mirxes, and Vivo Surgical. The stipend is up to S$7,000 per month, paid directly by the host company, with SGInnovate co-funding a portion of the cost. No CPF contributions are made. The programme accepts applications on a rolling, continuous basis, with initial screening decisions issued within 5–10 business days.

Eligibility is restricted to Singapore citizens and permanent residents only; overseas nationals are not eligible. Applicants must hold either an MSc with two to five years of laboratory or academic experience, or a PhD (including fresh PhD graduates). Relevant disciplinary backgrounds include analytical sciences, biochemistry, bioinformatics, chemistry, and biomedical engineering. The fellowship covers five functional tracks at host companies: DMPK/ADMET-Toxicology, Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), Project Management, Product Development, and Clinical and Regulatory Affairs.

The Helix programme is a talent fellowship paying the individual directly — it is not a grant to companies and involves no equity or debt instruments. Applications require a CV and educational certificates submitted via the SGInnovate portal. The total potential stipend value over the 12-month fellowship reaches up to S$84,000 at the maximum monthly rate. Candidates who are successfully matched are placed full-time with a host company for the programme duration; part-time arrangements are not offered.
