Sustained Viral Resilience
Funds R&D teams up to £8M to build durable, broad-spectrum antiviral medicines.
A consortium applies through one lead applicant, who receives the funding and subcontracts other members; even after a consortium is selected, ARIA can choose at the negotiation stage to fund only some of its workstreams or organisations rather than the whole team. Each proposal must sit within a single Technical Area — a project spanning Explorers, Accelerators and Translators needs a separate pr…
ARIA is funding research toward a new class of medicines, called sustained innate immunoprophylactics, that strengthen the body's innate immune system to give durable, broad-spectrum protection against respiratory viruses such as influenza and coronaviruses. The call funds three technical areas: Explorers building proof-of-concept candidates, Accelerators building tools, platforms and datasets to speed that work, and Translators working on clinical translation and future commercialisation.
