Invest Northern Ireland administers the Shared Island Sustainability Capital Grant as the Northern Ireland route within the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme developed with InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland. The source describes a EUR 20 million total grant, circa GBP 18 million, with EUR 10 million available in each region for businesses in Northern Ireland and Ireland to decarbonise sites using novel and innovative solutions. The call is closed and not accepting new applications. Eligible projects had to address sustainability challenges, improve a manufacturing or industrial site, have at least GBP 5 million in capital project spend, and incur expenditure by 31 December 2027.
Capital projects for heat electrification, thermal storage, hydrogen, onsite renewable energy, sustainable water, carbon capture, and circular economy improvements.
