BRAIN Initiative: Theories, Models and Methods for Analysis of Complex Data from the Brain
Funds computational tools, models and theories for understanding brain circuits, built to be shared broadly with the research community.
A brain does not work one circuit at a time, and the theory for making sense of that is behind the data. This is the BRAIN Initiative's notice for building that theory, not for collecting more recordings.
The Theories, Models and Methods initiative supports development of computational tools for understanding dynamic brain circuits, made broadly accessible to the wider research community. In scop…
Development and dissemination of computational tools, theories and models for understanding dynamic brain circuits — neural circuit mechanisms, circuit structure and function, and computational methods of analysis spanning neurons to behavior — made broadly accessible to the research community, with named relevance to closed-loop treatments for brain disorders such as Parkinson's disease and major depressive disorder. Clinical trials are not allowed.
