Multi-project Superfund Research Program Centers combining biomedical research with engineering, hydrogeology, ecology or epidemiology components linked to basic biomedical science, plus administrative, training and translational-engagement cores, under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986. Restricted by law to accredited institutes of higher education, which may subcontract to other organisations including hazardous-waste generators, site owners and operators, and state or local governments.
