The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) administers this grant under Procedure BG16RFPR001-1.008 of the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme (PKIP) 2021-2027 — an EU structural fund programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The procedure supports Bulgarian SMEs in adopting Industry 4.0 technologies, strengthening cybersecurity, improving data privacy practices, and implementing Industry 4.0 standards. Total programme budget is 105,978,140 BGN (54,185,762.78 EUR).
Awards range from 150,000 BGN (76,693.78 EUR) to 850,000 BGN (434,598.10 EUR), with the exact cap depending on enterprise category and the chosen state aid regime. Applications were submitted via EUMIS 2020. The procedure deadline was 15 December 2025.
Eligibility covers for-profit small and medium enterprises (SMEs) registered in Bulgaria. The source specifies SMEs only — micro enterprises are not mentioned separately in the verbatim eligibility text. Companies must be adopting Industry 4.0 technologies, not just conducting basic digitalization.
