The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) of Bulgaria administers this grant under Procedure BG16RFPR001-1.001 of the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme (PKIP) 2021-2027 — an EU structural fund programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The procedure targets R&D in five thematic areas defined by Bulgaria's Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (ISSS). Total programme budget is 127,000,000 BGN.

Awards range from 50,000 BGN to 250,000 BGN for micro-enterprises, up to 400,000 BGN for small enterprises, and up to 500,000 BGN for medium enterprises and small mid-cap companies.
