The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) administers this grant under Procedure BG16RFPR001-6.001 of the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme (PKIP) 2021-2027 — an EU structural fund programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Unlike most PKIP procedures, this one targets all enterprise sizes from micro to large. Total procedure budget is 138,162,662 BGN (70,641,447.37 EUR).
Awards range from 100,000 BGN (51,129.19 EUR) minimum to 7,000,000 BGN (3,579,043.17 EUR) maximum per project. This is the largest award range of any Bulgarian MIG procedure in this catalog. Applications were submitted via EUMIS 2020. The procedure deadline was 15 April 2026.
Eligibility covers all enterprise sizes — micro, small, medium, and large — producing products related to defense and/or dual-use items. The eligible activities include acquiring machinery, equipment, software, patents, and licenses that improve the company's industrial capacity for defense or dual-use production. Eligible products under EU dual-use and defense export control lists are the target category.
The procedure deadline was 15 April 2026. That deadline has now passed. No next round has been announced. The procedure appears to be in evaluation or contract-signing phase as of the verification date.
