Globalstars call with Taiwan
Supports European and Taiwan teams building international technology and research alliances through Eureka Globalstars channels.
The EUREKA Globalstars call with Taiwan 2026 is a bilateral R&D funding call connecting companies and research organisations in Taiwan with partners in four participating EUREKA member countries: Austria, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The call opened 20 April 2026 and closes 15 September 2026 at 17:00 CEST. Participating national agencies are the Taiwan Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), Business Finland, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), Vinnova (Sweden), and RVO (the Netherlands). Projects can begin as early as April 2027, with national funding procedures completing in December 2026.
The thematic scope covers semiconductors and advanced materials and manufacturing, photonics including heterogeneous integration, artificial intelligence, quantum hardware and software, digital health, biotechnology, telecommunications (5G/6G), space, aeronautics, and circular economy. A qualifying consortium must include at least one for-profit company from Taiwan and at least one for-profit company from a participating EUREKA member country, with maximum project duration of 36 months and no single organisation or country exceeding 70% of total eligible costs. Funding rates vary by agency and company size: FFG funds up to 60% for Austrian startups/small companies and 50% for research organisations; Vinnova provides up to EUR 276,855 per project (national budget EUR 553,710 total); RVO provides up to EUR 350,000 per project at up to 45%/35% for smaller organisations. DoIT funds Taiwanese company applicants at up to 50% under its A+ Industrial Innovation R&D Program; universities and research organisations are not funded on the Taiwan side.
Evaluation criteria weight market impact and commercialisation plans heavily alongside technical excellence and international cooperation value. Applicants should verify that their specific EUREKA-side country participates in this Taiwan call before investing in application preparation, then contact the relevant national agency early to confirm budget availability. Consortia should build the project narrative around shared commercial goals and a clear exploitation strategy to score strongly on the impact criterion.
Semiconductors, photonics, AI, quantum technology, digital health, biotechnology, telecommunications, and circular-economy applications in bilateral R&D consortia between Taiwan and participating Eureka member countries, deadline 15 September 2026.
