EUREKA Network Projects Canada Call No. 7 supports bilateral and multilateral R&D consortia involving Canada and any participating EUREKA member country, covering civilian technology sectors from advanced manufacturing and materials to AI, medtech, robotics, energy, and climate. The call is administered on the Canadian side by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), which funds Canadian participants under Canadian national grant rules. The application deadline is 27 August 2026, submitted through the EUREKA SmartSimple portal.

Eligibility requires at least one legal entity registered in Canada and at least one from a participating EUREKA member country, with no single participant or country responsible for more than 70% of total project costs. For-profit companies, non-profits, universities, and research organisations may all participate; individuals may not apply as sole applicants. The scope must be civilian — military applications are excluded. Canadian participants receive funding in Canadian dollars through NRC; EUREKA-side partners are funded by their respective National Funding Bodies under their own national rules, which means award amounts are not set at the EUREKA programme level.

Successful applicants present a project with genuine bilateral innovation value that neither partner could realise alone. Teams should contact NRC early to verify Canadian funding availability for the specific technology area, since NRC may apply sector or thematic priorities beyond the general EUREKA eligibility criteria. The 27 August 2026 deadline allows time for pre-submission eligibility checks and portal registration, both of which must be completed before the close of the call.

International R&D projects between Canada and participating Eureka member countries in any civilian sector, with Canadian participants funded by NRC Canada, deadline 27 August 2026.
